Abhati Suisse: Changing the world with hand-washing

Abhati Suisse is a young cosmetics company based in Switzerland. The first product of its cosmetics line is “One Hand Washes the Other”, a natural product for hand-washing. Every product purchase will help buy toilets for schools that have none. Abhati has started a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to finance the launch of One Hand Washes the Other. It’s possible to support the start-up until Sunday.

Since proper hand washing promotes hygiene and health, the Abhati Suisse team thought it appropriate to launch the Abhati “Beauty with Dignity” campaign with its hand wash solution One Hand Washes the Other. The recipe combines traditional remedies like anti-oxidizing moringa oil from India and soothing, antimicrobial Swiss Alpine edelweiss, along with other natural extracts. The product does not contain artificial colorants and is free of chemical preservatives, petroleum derivatives, and sulfates. Abhati packaging is green and environmentally friendly.

50% of Abhati's benefits are used for the construction of Toilets in Indian Schools. In addition to the installation of the toilets the “One Hand Washes the Other” school curriculum will outline the way to effective hand washing and its benefits in preventing disease and deaths. The goal here is to inspire a change in behavior towards ending public defecation and creating good hand washing practices.

Besides the R&D for a skin care line in bi-cultural cooperation, Abhati is currently in talks with a major international retail chain in Switzerland to distribute its first product. Contacts have also been established to a few other potential retail chains abroad, which have shown interest in supporting Abhati.

End of October Abhati has started a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. Almost USD20’000 are already committed. The campaign ends on Sunday. Supporters will receive bottles of the first batch of One Hand Washes the Other, an Alps retreat pack or even a Himalaya trip – depending on the amount they are willing to spend.
