MindMaze as Switzerland's Best Managed Company

Foodtech startup Alver received €500’000 as a winner in Webit’s Founders Games, one of the world’s largest growth challenges which attracted 3000 applications. SoHHytech won a proof of Concept to develop solutions to enable life on Mars. Abhati’s products won a prize in a beauty competition, MindMaze was recognised as Switzerland’s Best Managed Companies and Acredius was selected by a US-based accelerator program.

MindMaze, a global pioneer in neurotechnology and digital therapeutics (DTx) for neurological recovery and care has been recognised as one of Switzerland’s Best Managed Companies 2022 (picture above), a programme sponsored by Deloitte Private, SIX Swiss Exchange, and Julius Baer. Jean-Marc Wismer, COO of MindMaze comments on this achievement: “As a team, we are focused on innovation and quality because when it comes to developing groundbreaking technologies and therapies to treat those suffering from neurological conditions and injuries, good business practices and processes are vital to attract and retain great talent and grow sustainably.”

The award recognises Swiss companies that operate at the highest level of business performance including their efforts, overall growth, and management abilities factor into the programme’s selection. MindMaze received the prize thanks to the company’s strong corporate culture, visionary leadership, adaptability and agility. The Deloitte evaluation for these awards is based on 29 years of observed practice from the global awards programme that has been rolled out in 48 countries worldwide. Companies that are chosen for this award are upheld as examples for other businesses to follow.

€500’000 for Alver
Founder Games has launched its first competition aiming to support exponential innovations for a resilient and sustainable future. The competition attracted 3,000 applicants from 140 countries and only five companies from Denmark, UAE, Germany, Sweden and Switzerland impressed a jury of over 250 leading investors. The winners were announced during the four-day hybrid edition of Webit Impact Forum which hosted over 75,000 people. Each will receive an investment award of 500,000 euros, with the opportunity to increase the investment up to 1 million euros after the upcoming meeting of the Webit Investment Network (WIN) board of directors.

Swiss startup Alver World one of the winners, produces proteins from the golden, diamond and ruby chlorella microalgae. Alver has a patent for the most sustainable way to produce protein from algae, which also serves as a binding agent in the production of healthy foods. The company has raised $6 million in investor capital to date and announced the closing of an upcoming round in the next month.

Sohhytec – Mars Habitat Challenge
Organised by Hagerbach, the Mars Habitat Challenge supports startups in developing solutions for the visionary idea of living on Mars or other planets. Cleantech startup SoHHytec won a proof of Concept in the Hagerbach Test Gallery, worth CHF 10'000.  The startup provides cost-effective onsite hydrogen fuel, electricity, heat production, and storage systems in order to realize a sustainable hydrogen economy.

Acredius - Newchip accelerator
Acredius is an online platform that makes investors’ and borrowers’ needs meet in an unconventional, digital, intuitive and safe environment. Investors can diversify their portfolios and enjoy interesting yields. Borrowers get access to fair financing using their traditional and non-traditional data. The crowdlending platform has been selected for the Newchip accelerator program. Newchip is a US-based, equity-free online startup accelerator focused on providing world-changing startups with the tools, skills, mentorship, and network to raise and build their businesses successfully.

Abhati – Beauty Shortlist Eco Awards
The hair and skincare brand Abhati, which specialises in developing natural products by combining technology has received an award for two of its products: NANDA Detoxifying Shampoo Bar with antibacterial organic ginger and KAVERI Calming Shampoo Bar in the category "Best Zero-Waste Products in Beauty at athe Beauty Shortlist Eco Award. The company is generating 27% of our total turnover with this newly created Shampoo Bar category that contains seven different products.
