Launched in 2020, Abilect today offers more than just a platform for facilitating the management of property- related service requests. The proptech leverages a digital tool that enables you to take care of the entire lifecycle of your property: construction, renovation, ecological upgrades, and maintenance. A winning formula that is drawing loyal customers and fueling ambitious expansion plans.

The expansion of its solution as well as of its customer base and geographical presence, ensured a strong 2022 year for Abilect. The Chavannes-de-Bogis based proptech is building on this momentum in 2023 by developing its product and service package offering further for B2B customers, as well as increasing its points of sale to its B2C customer base through both geographic expansion as well as strategic marketing decisions to reach more private customers as well as propose attractive solutions that ensure a high rate of recurring customers

Today Abilect has customers who come back with further requests after taking their first service. Around 75% of customers request a professional / facility management service or a minor renovation for their first service requirements. For their second requirement, 50% of customers request a large renovation / green energy service, indicating that their trust in Abilect increases after the first interaction to enable them to entrust to the company work of higher value requiring increased responsibility from Abilect and its service providers.

An Expanding B2B Offer

While initially Abilect’s product offering was targeted to the needs of private customers, its product has also developed to answer the needs of the professional B2B market in the real estate and construction industry, specifically with respect to sustainability requirements in new constructions and properties being redeveloped. Today the company led by Esha Indani is working increasingly with professional clients like architects, interior decorators and property developers for their customers and requirements, as well as the launch of software solutions to support them.

Developing into the B2B sector has been an important step in Abilect’s evolution as it positions it well enough to all stakeholders in the industry that enables it to continue to develop and refine its product to better target both B2C and B2B markets, continue to increase its value to them. Its CEO tells us that the company has been undertaking expert evaluations for property-related damages for insurance companies, as well as providing the necessary quotations and repairs for the damage following approval of the insurance company for the coverage.

The core of Abilect’s business model from the start to now has been based on the principle of the collaborative economy. The proptech believes that by forming partnerships with brands directly or indirectly connected with its services, professionals, and customers, as well as facilitating collaboration and communication between organizations, it enhances the potential of revenue generation within the industry as well as increase the efficiency of processes and reduce the costs incurred through redundant tasks that can be automated or simplified with its digital solutions.

Last year Abilect entered the smart properties, green energy installations and IOT installations market. Green installations and sustainable construction have also developed into a large area of its focus, inspiring the startup. The CEO explains: “As we began to increase the services of renovation and green energy that we provided to our customers following their increase in demand, we have begun to orient our services towards a greener approach – proposing green materials during constructions as well as green ways of construction and providing energy efficiency appraisals of buildings through CECB/GEAK certifications, helping the customer get an accurate overview of their home.”

Project management was another major sector that Abilect developed over the course of 2022, as the proptech saw this as the main need of both its private and professional customers. Conceptualization of a project is easily done, however the execution of the project with the headaches and challenges that come along with it is the next crucial step that requires a dedicated management that accompanies both the end customer as well as the service professionals required for the project every step of the way. For private customers, this means that they can hand over the project to Abilect, with the complete confidence that it will be executed as it is meant to be – with regular update communication from the startup. For professional customers, primarily architects, this helps them save time by only having to coordinate with one single company, Abilect, and liberates the time they would have otherwise spent on the project management on being able to take on more clients and conceptualize new projects.

Busy roadmap for the next months

The future vision for Abilect rests on both the expansion of its geographical base as well as the further development of its features. The proptech is looking to automate and streamline as much of the processes of the real estate and construction industry as possible to ensure that every stakeholder, worker, and asset can operate and perform at an optimal level, without wastage of time and the burden of unnecessary costs.

On the digital solutions side, Abilect is developing further features on its platform that are AI-based to improve the experience of the customer on the platform, automate certain tasks as well as support the recurring requests of its customers. In line with the AI developments, Abilect will continue to work on IOT devices commercialized in the Swiss market. Additionally, the company is in the process of planning and developing features that will allow customers to give it a virtual tour of their space – to better understand the work that is possible and that is required for them in terms of both renovations as well as general maintenance. Furthermore, on its service provider end, the company will be incorporating new widget features to help them to also begin to manage certain aspects of their business via Abilect – facilitate the integration of their revenue generation from Abilect with the revenue that they have that is not generated from Abilect.

In terms of market expansion, the Swiss proptech is already servicing the neighboring region of France. “We are looking to expand further into France, reaching the first major metropolis of Lyon, followed by Paris. As we consolidate our base in the German-speaking cantons of Switzerland, we replicate the same pattern of expansion by first beginning to service bordering regions, before advancing to the first major city which in the case of Germany will be Stuttgart.” says Esha Indani.  Abilect’s vision is to establish itself in Germany, France, Austria, Italy, Belgium and Spain by the end of 2024/2025.
