New marketplace for DOOH advertising launched

Measuring ad attention in public space: Adtrac.media, a joint platform of the St. Gallen-based AI startup Advertima, SPAR Switzerland and the real estate company Fortimo makes it possible.

Last summer, the computer vision startup Advertima joined forces with SPAR Switzerland and Fortimo Group to found the joint venture “Adtrac AG”. After nine months of business and product development, the platform is officially launched today, managing a Smart Digital Signage network of 450 screens in all 190 SPAR supermarkets and 11 TopCC stores throughout Switzerland.

With Advertima’s technology, retailers like SPAR are enabling their suppliers to target their desired audience with relevant content at the point of sales. Combined with Adtrac’s solution, they can now easily plan their campaigns with a fully automated platform and get real-time analytics data to measure the performance of their ads and campaigns.

“We already know that from the online world. When it comes to out-of-home media, however, the offers that are available on the market, lag far behind the ones for online marketing. The joint solution from Advertima and Adtrac is finally changing the status quo,” says Wolfgang Frick, Managing Director Purchasing and Marketing at SPAR Group Switzerland.

“When we entered the market with our Smart Targeting and Audience Analytics solution for digital signage, we realized that this market will not endorse our technology because it would force them to disrupt their existing business models. SPAR and Fortimo, who were well aware of the potential of such technology, were easily persuaded to found Adtrac,” explains Iman Nahvi, Co-Founder and CEO of Advertima.

In order to get this joint venture rolling quickly and successfully, industry expert and former Senior Manager for DOOH at Goldbach, Benjamin Wey, could be won over as Co-Founder and CEO of the joint venture. “With today’s launch of our platform, brands and media agencies can now buy smart media space in more than 200 locations in Switzerland while receiving real-time campaign and audience analytics,” announces Benjamin Wey.
