The 3D computer vision platform provider has now joined the AI Campus Berlin bringing it closer to AI researchers, developers, entrepreneurs, potential partners and investors.

AI Campus Berlin is a not-for-profit space where research, startups, and corporates collaborate on Artificial Intelligence projects. Swiss startup Advertima has joined the community, winning itself a new office where the team can focus on enhancing their solution, collaborating, and exchanging with the community.

Advertima has grown to become the leading provider of real-time audience data and smart-targeting technology for digital signage. Its solution, Advertima Smart Signage, uses leading-edge 3D computer vision and machine learning technology to truly understand people in the physical world, thereby bridging the gap between in-store visitors and the media buying industry. This enables grocery retailers to monetise their stores’ visitors by having the same customer insights and capabilities as the online world. The platform connects the media buying industry to in-store visitors, opening up a new revenue stream for retailers as their media owners.

TopPharm rolls out Advertima digital signage in 120 pharmacies
Adding to its growing clientele, including retail giant Spar and Posterscope, Advertima announced that TopPharm, the largest independent coalition of pharmacies in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, has selected it to implement its AI solution with 240 digital screens in its 120 pharmacies in Switzerland. This next-generation digital signage network enables TopPharm to become the first pharmacy brand offering offline media space with real-time targeting capabilities and performance-based pricing models for their supplier brands and other advertisers. For the project, Advertima collaborates with industry experts, Cingerine, Adtrac, B+T Bild+Ton AG, and Freaky Swep to provide a turnkey and easy-to-use solution that brings unprecedented financial and strategic benefits to TopPharm.

Digital signage as a turning point for DOOH
Advertima is also enjoying the fruits of its successful collaboration with the Federal Technology Institute (ETH Zurich). After two years of joint research, Advertima and ETH Zurich commercialised an accessible state of the art AI solution for digital signage. By reducing hardware costs by half while providing market-leading capabilities, the new release marks a turning point in the evolution of DOOH (digital out of home), enabling brick-and-mortar retailers to capitalise on AI-driven targeting and analytics to generate immediate and unequalled ROI.

In line with their commitment to bring breakthrough computer vision technology with real value to the market, Advertima and ETH Zurich’s project, funded by Innosuisse, has helped increase the performance and the accuracy of edge computing and real-time smart-targeting technology for digital signage solutions. As a result, cheaper hardware can now be used to deliver the highest performance currently available on the market to transform digital signage networks into an immediately profitable media product. Advertima Smart Signage is now available without any initial capital investment – only requiring a yearly license fee payment – increasing ROI for retailers.
