With 38 million passengers in 2011 Munich is one of Europe’s top ten airports. The airport selects the new Xovis PTS to measure and display waiting times in specific areas. The target to improve the passenger experience at the airport is one of the major goals.

With a total of 38 million passengers and some 410,000 flights in 2011, Munich maintained its number seven ranking among Europe's top ten airports. Last year the FMG Group, with its 14 subsidiaries, had total revenues of about 1.2 billion euros.

Travelers from all over the world value the excellent quality of the passenger experience in Munich as well as the ease of making connections. This has been confirmed again and again in the annual surveys by Skytrax, the London-based aviation research institute, in which passengers regularly vote Munich one of the world's top ten passenger airports. On several different occasions – including the most recent survey in 2011 – Munich Airport has been voted number one in Central Europe.

Munich airport selects the new Xovis PTS to measure and display waiting times in specific areas. The target to improve the passenger experience at the airport even further is one of the major goals.

Waiting time measurements in airports at security checkpoints, border controls, check-ins, etc., can be performed reliably with the Xovis PTS. The data can be used by airports for resource planning to reach and prove the key figures agreed in service level contracts with airlines and for comparison with other airports. Service and the customer satisfaction are improved.

The Xovis PTS technology is based on a vision sensor with a powerful processing engine that makes it possible to perform a full-image individual person tracking on the sensor itself. The tracking data is sent to a server with attached database, where the data is collected, stored and applications like waiting time measurements are running.

Xovis, headquartered in Berne, is a swiss high-tech company that has been incorporated in 2008. Xovis develops and commercializes systems and sensors for people counting and tracking and similar applications with a focus on airports.
