Voliro and Bouygues join forces

The ETH Zurich spin-off founded in 2019 and currently accelerated at Wyss Zurich is developing a highly advanced flying inspection robot for safe and efficient work at height. It protects and maintains critical infrastructure by delivering high quality, cost-effective and time-efficient robotic inspection and maintenance solutions for industries such as the oil and gas, petrochemicals, maritime, infrastructure and energy sectors. Its aerial robotics platform benefits from a strong ecosystem of applications delivered via in-house and third-party capabilities.

In a new partnership with Bouygues E&S EnerTrans, Switzerland's leading high and medium voltage engineering company with over 4700 employees and $1.14 billion in sales, Voliro will provide its T flying robot as an all-around solution to protect critical infrastructure such as powerline transmission towers. Such structures are vulnerable to corrosion and require frequent inspection. Traditional inspection methods using rope-access or scaffolding are expensive, time-consuming and expose human operators to dangerous conditions.

Using Voliro's Non-Destructive Testing aerial robots, it is now possible to inspect power pylons much faster than classic methods without power transmission interruption. Voliro will work in partnership with Bouygues to conduct inspections at sites across Europe.
