SwissGames brings ten studios to the Game Developers Conference 2022

To support Swiss game studios to build relationships with the international game industry and to access the global market, Pro Helvetia and Swissnex in San Francisco supported by Presence Switzerland have co-organised the SwissGames delegation to the Game Developers Conference and targeted activities for the selected Swiss game studios looking to advance their skills and career.

The upcoming GDC takes place physically in the Moscone Center in March 2022 in San Francisco. The ten selected Swiss studios will attend the conference and the US Game Industry Days consisting of virtual 1:1 coaching sessions. The event aims to prepare and equip the Swiss game studios with valuable insights and potential connections ahead of the GDC. Once in San Francisco, the delegation will benefit from industry-relevant events hosted by Swissnex @ Pier 17 and at the SwissGames booth (N2903) at GDC Play.

Selected Games and studios are:

PatchWorld: The Sonic Metaverse – PatchXR
The native VR creative environment lets anyone build brand new instruments and play electronic music in the metaverse. Ahead of its launch on Oculus Quest this summer, artists have already been creating entire worlds and immersive experiences, tracks, and virtual venues using Patch. The studio based in Switzerland Denmark is currently running a beta version of the PatchXR creator tool.

Grimoire Groves – Startdust
Restore the magical forest as you grow cute plant creatures with your witch magic in this cozy rogue-lite dungeon crawler. Unlock all spells, discover new plant types, befriend magical creatures and ravel the mystery of the rainbow socks.

Crowned MOBA – Crowned.gg

Hermit: an underwater Tale – Early Coffee Games
Underwater, a new threat slowly emerges. Playing as a helpless hermit crab, use your shells to defeat countless waves of monsters and giant sea creatures in this action packed 2d game.

Skeleton Crew – journey of the Damned – 1A3M Studio
Is a fun action-adventure VR experience. In the game, players steer a pirate and command its crew of brainless undead skeletons in a stylized pirate VR experience. As captain of the ship, players must keep them in line, on course and happy while completing fun and challenging scenarios.

A game about isolation, control and distraction in the form of a modern text adventure. Discover what lies behind the door and solve puzzles to slowly reveal the truth of this forest.

Unrailed! 2 – Indoor Astronaut GmbH
Is a co-op multiplayer railroad construction game in which players work together to extend a train track and keep their shiny new train from derailing. They travel through endless procedurally generated worlds, meet their inhabitants, and try to reach farther than ever before.

Legion Hearts – Kreidenwerk GmbH
Is a tactical RPG blending roguelite deckbuilding with turn-based auto chess combat. Set in a modern reimagination of Norse mythology, players take on the role of a time travelling Valkyrie and must gather a grand army to save Midgard.

Plank Builders – Diditopia Games GmbH
Is peaceful construction game that takes the player into a young kid’s childhood. The player plans and builds different constructions in order to access new areas, marbles and stuffed toys.

Pocket Oasis – Knit’n’npurl game
With Pocket Oasis, players get the opportunity to create their own paradise in their dream city. The goal is for players to look after their plants and unlock the content that they desire and decorate their balcony to their heart's content.In order for players to keep plants alive on the balcony, they must ensure they’re kept healthy.
