AIDONIC, Sophia Chatbot and 42hacks address real-world challenges with their innovative solutions in blockchain technology, chatbot-companionship and AI-powered smart mobility and win international prizes.

Zug-based startup AIDONIC won first place in the Swiss-South Africa Blockchain Innovation Challenge. Their technology, powered by decentralized software solutions, connects donations directly to beneficiaries through a token-based system, enhancing trust and efficiency. The Swiss-South Africa Blockchain Innovation Challenge fosters collaboration between Swiss and South African blockchain startups. Selected startups benefit from access to an exclusive program providing valuable market support, investment readiness training, impact masterclasses and the opportunity to pitch at the SA Innovation Summit 2023, the largest startup event in Africa.

As the only Swiss startup, AIDONIC is also among the finalists of XPitch 2023, a competition in Asia, where startups can win awards and an investment – prized US $1,000,000 - through a series of high-intensity pitch challenges.

Europe’s best social innovation
Sophia Chatbot won first place at the 2023 Social Innovation Tournament Sophia is a 24/7 digital companion for survivors of domestic violence, offering anonymous support in 12 languages. The chatbot empowers survivors to securely collect evidence and seek help, leaving no digital trace. The Social Innovation Tournament recognizes and supports European impact entrepreneurs whose initiatives contribute to social, ethical, or environmental impact. It awards prizes of up to €100,000 for winning projects. The competition is organized by the EIB institute, part of the EIB Group (European Investments Bank / European Investment Fund).

Exemplary initiative for car abandonment
42hacks, a Swiss non-profit cooperative, is part of an international Climate Hacker Community dedicated to translating climate commitments into concrete action. 42 hacks use AI, trained with historical and real-time mobility data, to perform experiments for behavioural change in people – leading them away from private motorised transport towards emission-poorer smart mobility. In the VCÖ-Mobilitätspreis 2023 Austria competition, which saw a record 407 project submissions, 42 hacks secured the top spot in the "Internationale Vorbildprojekte" (International Role Models) category with their innovative approach of AI-powered smart mobility.
