The Swiss Food Research Call aims at funding ideas and proof of concepts in a very early stage of a research project. Individuals with innovative projects along the entire Agro-Food value chain have the chance to submit their project proposal and receive up to CHF 10’000. Registration closes on 9th October.

The Swiss Food research Call is organised on behalf of the National Thematic Network Swiss Food Research. Swiss Food Research is the central node for the network of Knowledge and technology transfer and acts as a bridge between of innovation between research institutions and Swiss companies along the entire food value chain. Depending on the type and quality of the call, a maximum funding of 10’000 CHF is given out to the most outstanding and innovative project, which requires testing in the early stage.

Individuals with project proposals focusing on a topic along the entire Agro-Food value chain including its adjacent fields are invited to submit their application. The submitted projects are required to have the potential to be developed further and to be continued as a CTI project or by another type of research project. The proposal should serve as a seed for a greater project to evolve from. Aspirants are also required to have some potential applications in mind, where their project idea will provide an added value.

The selection team will analyse and assess the project proposals and the most innovative projects will be awarded with CHF 5’000, CHF 7’500 and CHF 10’000 depending on the type of proposal. These funds will enable the project owner to take the first step into getting a better understanding of their idea.

Additional benefits also await the winners. They will;

  • Confidential treatment of their idea
  • An assessment of their proposal reviewed by experts from CTI and Academia
  • Face to face discussions with SFR experts as sparring partner
  • An intermediate review with experts from CTI and Academia
  • Support in finding industry partners
  • Support in applying for further funding, such as CTI project
  • Receive the Swiss Food Trophy

Registration closes on 9th October 2016.
