Launched last June, DroneControl is gaining market traction, fast. The Geneva based startup specializes in customized drone software for public safety organizations, enabling secure live streaming and remote control to enhance incident response.

Since the launch of its first product, DroneControl FirstResponder, the Fongit supported startup has made significant strides. As CEO and Founder Thomas Ingold explains to Startupticker.ch, DroneControl’s approach relies on two pillars: B2B with Emergency Services and Integrating with existing service systems. In the first case, DroneControl has already numerous first responders across Europe utilizing its solutions, and the startup is currently gathering case studies to demonstrate the positive impact of its technology. For the second, the startup recently announced a partnership with a leading missing person response system and has more exciting deals on the horizon.

DroneControl is clearly very active. The startup has teamed up with the top drone solution providers in Europe, including heliguy (UK), Globe Flight (DE/AT), Alltron (CH), HP Drones (PT), and Dilectro (PL), with an expansion into Canada coming soon. The CEO and Founder explains: « These exclusive DJI distributors are trusted partners of the public safety agencies, aligned with established procurement processes. » further adding:  “We have integrated our technology into MX Sarman, the leading provider of missing persons search software in the UK, and have projects in place with a number of other existing emergency services software providers.”

DroneControl specializes in customized drone software for public safety organizations, enabling secure live streaming and remote control to enhance incident response. Currently, its lean team of three is expanding, as the startup is actively recruiting talents for both commercial and engineering roles.

Founded in June 2023, the project has been in development for over a year. DroneControl CTO and co-founder, Jernej Jerin, crafted a unique protocol for secure live streaming, even launching a consumer app in 2021 to test the technology. Thomas Ingold’s decision to join the venture was driven by the potential positive impact the solution can have in saving lives, and his ambition to use his skill set from a career in blue chip multinationals to create something new.

Boosting market roll-out and scaling operations

Speaking about the future, Thomas Ingolds tells Startupticker.ch that DroneControl’s roadmap to success focuses on three areas. With imminent announcements of new partnerships and the expansion into Canada, the team is enthusiastic about enhancing its market presence. Getting more users of the solution in the market to drive case studies is vital for its continued success, says the CEO.

As a third-party developer, DroneControl is agile in responding to customer needs. Having already built some great relationships within the first responder community, the team has an extensive list of future developments in the pipeline. Its upcoming releases promise innovative features, including automated flights and AI-driven critical situation identification.

DroneControl next investment round is slated for year-end after securing initial support with its incubator partner FONGIT earlier this year.  Thomas Ingold explains : “We are close to having significant backing already in place so keep an eye on this space as we're actively engaging with angel investors and seed VCs. »
