Start Summit 2023: ‘Reaching for Resilience’

The next edition of the annual Start Summit, Europe’s leading student-run startup conference, will occur on 23 and 24 March 2023 in St. Gallen. With the Motto “Reaching for Resilience”, this year’s event will bring various speakers on stage to share their insights and provide startups with a platform to showcase their solutions. The event will culminate with the presentation of the Start Summiteer Award, for which the deadline expires on 28 February 2023.

START Global awaits more than 4000 participants at START Summit in St. Gallen. The two-day event will bring together various players in the Swiss startup ecosystem, including startups, investors, students, aspiring entrepreneurs and industry leaders, to learn, explore new trends and network.

This year’s speakers will highlight the topic of Resilience to provide attendees with valuable insights and strategies for becoming more resilient in their personal and professional lives, helping them to handle challenges better and bounce back from adversity. Among the speakers are Hakan Koc (Auto1), Ijad Madisch (ResearchGate), Severin Hacker (Duolingo) and Jerry Murdock (Inside Partners), sharing their insights in sessions like ‘Fast Lane to Hypergrowth - The Auto1 story’ in a Fireside Chat with Hakan Kac; ‘The Delta: Secret Sauce of Building Successful Ventures in a Panel with Julian Teicke (wefox) and Louis Buys (The Delta); and How to build a unicorn in 3 years during the global crisis: Fireside Chat with Daniel Khachab (Choco). Industry leaders, including representatives from Meta, Technologiefunds, Cherry Ventures, and Inventory, will lead some workshops.

The event offers a rich program and networking platforms, including a match-making tool Co-Founder Matching and various side events to startups to put startups  in the spotlight and help them showcase their solutions to the audience.

START Fair
The START Fair enables startups to showcase their products and services to more than 4000 participants. All startups will have a 2x2 meters booth to present their newest prototypes, interact with potential new customers, and get immediate product feedback. To receive a booth, the startup must be early in the stage, have raised less than CHF 1 million in funding, and have purchased at least two startup tickets by the end of the application deadline.

START summiteer award
START Summiteer is a unique opportunity for startups to pitch their business idea to Europe’s most renowned investors, corporate industry leaders, and potential customers. Selected startups will participate in the online quarterfinals, pitching against startups in their designated categories. The winners will move on to the Semifinals, which will occur physically on the first Summit day on 23.03. The four best startups will pitch against each other in the grand finale on the main stage on 24.03. The winner will receive 10’000 CHF in cash. Eligible to apply are early-stage startups that have raised less than CHF 500k and purchased at least one startup ticket until the end of the application deadline on 28 February 2023 at midnight.
