QualySense, an EMPA-based start-up company focused on innovative grain and seeds sorting technology, announces that the QSorter Explorer, a high-speed “one by one” device for analysis and sorting of grains, seeds, and beans, will be presented for the first time ever at the USA Wheat Quality Council.

The USA Wheat Quality Council will take place in Kansas City from February 14th to February 16th 2012. Wheat industry experts will have the chance to assist at a live demo of the QSorter Explorer. The USA Wheat Quality Council is one of the most important events in the industry.

QSorter Explorer is a multi-kg-per-hour sorting device that allows uniformity characterization of commodities batches with respect to internal and external properties. This Swiss-made device will help (a) breeders in performing effective seed selection, (b) milling plants in preparing better mixes, and (3) trading inspection agencies in assessing the quality of commodities. QualySense’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Francesco Dell’Endice, says: «We are very proud to present our first product, the QSorter Explorer. QualySense’s R&D team has done an excellent job in designing, integrating, and validating a very complex device that will bring enourmous benefits to the commodity communities. Thanks to our cooperation with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), we have learned the requirements of our American customers and tailored the QSorter Explorer for this exciting market. »

QualySense is an EMPA-based start-up company co-founded in 2010 by Dr. Francesco Dell’Endice, along with Olga Mykhailova, Paolo D’Alcini, Alberto Romaneschi, and Stefan Blarer. QualySense aims to become the innovation leader in developing and marketing high-capacity sorting devices for quality and safety control of agricultural products. The unique and proprietary devices enable sorting grains, seeds and beans reliably by biochemical properties. The company was awarded with the CTI Startup Label in 2011.
