Inura’s first pharmaceutical product, intraurethral ovulum, is addressing an unmet medical need in overactive bladder (OAB). The fresh capital secured in a pre-series A round will be used for business development and finalising pre-clinical activities.

Based at the HEMEX incubator in Liestal (Switzerland), Inura Medical is developing solutions aimed at improving women’s health. Its first product, the “intraurethral ovulum” is a first-of-its-kind solution that utilizes a novel route of drug administration to treat diseases of the bladder and lower urinary tract. The patented proprietary technology consists of a simple, patient-friendly method of local treatment with urethral ovula of oxybutynin for Overactive Bladder Syndrome (OAB). This will facilitate the drug’s effective penetration to the site of action and improve its pharmacokinetics profile. Therefore, increasing its clinical benefit and minimizing any possible side effects.

To finalise its pre-clinical activities, the startup has raised fresh capital from undisclosed investors. This financing round was a major milestone for our team. It brings us a step closer to the realization of our dream of helping patients with OAB. The funds raised will enable us to continue with our development program”, says CMO of Inura, Rafiq Hussain.

“Inura Medical has developed a product that has all the ingredients to change the rules of the game in OAB treatment. I’m very proud to participate in the further development of the company and thereby contribute to improving patients’ lives”, remarked Vanja Ivancevic, CEO of Inura Medical.
