Aidonic donations tranfer in Syria

Until today, donors could only hope that their aid reached the right beneficiary. The Zug based startup aims to provide transparency and increase trust in charity through its blockchain-based fundraising platform. The pilot tests of the beta version of AIDONIC in Syria for eight different aid projects for about 200 beneficiaries were successful and demand from NGOs is increasing.

Lack of transparency has become one of the most significant factors that discourage institutional donors and individuals from committing funds to charitable causes. This is because it has been nearly impossible to see where donations are going to and the impact they create. The Zug-based startup Aidonic is committed to combating these challenges using its Social Fundraising and Last Mile Aid Distribution Technology.

Aidonic has developed a token-based donor2beneficiary (D2B) ecosystem that securely connects donations from sources worldwide directly to the beneficiaries in need. Through crowdfunding, donors solicit funds for aid campaigns and causes. To do so, registered and certified NGOs must define the beneficiaries and their needs on the AIDONIC platform. Service-providers are also registered on the platform to help meet the needs. Once the campaign is successful, the money is not be paid directly to the beneficiary or to the NGO. Instead, they receive a tokenized voucher, which entitles them to receive the service. Using a QR code that is accessible both online or offline, beneficiaries can redeem their vouchers any time through a service provider who converts it into cash.

Donors on the other side can track the process through Aidonic, which not only increases trust but also increases their commitment to donating. Additionally, the technology helps NGOs and charities to reduce overhead massively. Besides NGOs, foundations, international organizations, and institutions in the field of charitable giving, sustainable development, and social impact can benefit from the solution.

A successful pilot project
During the previous two weeks, the recently incorporated startup tested its AIDONIC Beta-Version in Syria for the first time. Through ARAMAIC RELIEF International, its Swiss partner NGO, the team executed eight different aid projects for about 200 beneficiaries; four food aid projects, three health projects and one scholarship project for students. The startup team also tested the physical solution with printed vouchers, in case a beneficiary does not have a smartphone and internet access.

As reported by Severiyos Aydin, CEO and founder of Aidonic, “All test projects were successful and the feedback from the users was very positive. Currently, we are preparing further tests with other NGOs in other regions in the Middle East and Africa.”

“Since we launched the MVP we presented AIDONIC already to 5 international NGOs, which all of them are showing concrete interest. This month we will continue the development of our platform with all additional tools and functionalities and looking forward to finalizing all by Q1 2020. In the same time, we are preparing further tests and develop our business relationships internationally”, adds Severiyos.
