VRM Switzerland simulators

VRM Switzerland, provider of virtual reality simulators for helicopters, announces the completion of its latest CHF 9 million funding round with a group of private investors. The proceeds will facilitate scaling up production, internationalization, expansion of the product range as well as obtaining international certification.

VRM Switzerland designs and develops simulators that give prospective pilots the impression of sitting in a real helicopter while training. The simulation software features realistic flight physics with real-time multi-body simulation and flight data validation, which offers an exact replication of flight behaviour. The simulation is also tailored to the needs of trainees, right from introductory training on a turbine helicopter to demanding scenario-based training, mountain flying and emergency training. According to the start-up, these simulators allow pilots to practice difficult flight situations in a level of realism never before achieved.

While VRM Switzerland works with the European Union Aviation  Safety Agency (EASA) on new standards for flight simulators to enable all helicopter operators to increase flight safety, it is also collaborating with its customers and authorities to obtain certification for the simulator to ensure that it can be credited for training and checks.

The company has now obtained fresh capital of CHF 9 Million to strengthen its position as VR-technology leader in the helicopter simulator market and to offer its clients substantial benefit and exciting training opportunities without polluting the environment. Furthermore, the proceeds will enable VRM Switzerland to scale up production, accelerate internationalisation, expand the product range, and to increase its focus on the early availability of International certification.

“We are very pleased to have secured further funding for the VRM Team to commercialise our virtual training solution for Helicopters”, said Veit de Maddalena, Chairman.
