Loft Dynamics FSTD

Loft Dynamics and Qumea have been active in foreign markets – the US and Germany – offering flight simulation solutions to aspiring pilots and a fall prevention and mobility monitoring system in care institutions, respectively. The two startups have now established their offices in those countries.

More than 600,000 new aviators are required in the next 20 years, yet existing training solutions, including traditional full-motion simulators, remain cost-prohibitive for the average pilot and are confined to select training centers that can house and afford them.  By harnessing the power of VR technology,  Loft Dynamics (formerly VRM Switzerland) offers full-motion Flight Simulation Training Devices ( FSTDs) that deliver high-fidelity, immersive pilot training at one-twentieth the cost and one-tenth the size of legacy simulators. The company is gaining widespread adoption among aviation leaders and pilots to scale the next generation of skilled pilots.

Following its expansion to North America in 2021 after integrating its simulators at various flight schools, helicopter operators, and global regulatory organizations – from Airbus Helicopters to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Swiss startup announced the opening of its first Virtual Reality Flight Simulation Hub and its first North American headquarters, located at the Santa Monica Municipal Airport (SMO). The hub features Airbus H125 VR FSTD, offering a hands-on way for even more pilots and aviation leaders to experience the future of pilot training and the benefits of VR technology at a critical time for the aviation industry.

Medtech startup to spread footprints  in Germany and beyond
QUMEA’s system uses AI algorithms to interpret signals from a radar sensor that monitors the patient’s body movements in real time, enabling healthcare professionals to detect and prevent critical events such as falls. The radar-based technology is compliant with all data protection requirements. QUMEA is used in over 80 hospitals, psychiatric clinics and long-term care facilities in Europe and Australia and was tested in Sweden in 2023. As part of its expansion strategy, Qumea opened its office on the premises of CUBEX 41 & CUBEX ONE in Mannheim, with the support of NEXT MANNHEIM and 5-HT Chemistry & Health. This move strengthens Qumea’s presence in Germany and brings it closer to its customers and partners with whom it has Initial QUMEA projects underway. Among them are collaborations with the Hannover Medical School (MHH), the University Medical Center Mannheim (UMM), Caritas-Hospital St. Josef in Regensburg, and the BDH Clinic Greifswald.

Moreover, for the startup to better serve the new market, QUMEA has formed a dedicated team, with Marcel Schevemann as VP Germany and Silvana Lamparska as Customer Success Manager. Both have come on board as full-time employees and will strengthen local capabilities. With over 20 years of experience as a nurse and manager, Silvana Lamparska has contributed her expertise to various medical institutions throughout the country, including the University Hospital Heidelberg, Bundeswehr Hospital Ulm, and the University and Rehabilitation Clinics Ulm (RKU), before joining QUMEA. Marcel Schevemann, an advocate for innovative healthcare technologies, brings over 17 years of experience in sales, market management, marketing, and business development to QUMEA. He served as the Segment Manager Healthcare for the DACH region at Ascom
