Back from Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, IMVERSE is on a roll. At the largest and most influential connectivity event in the world, the Swiss startup led by Brent Milliken launched successfully its HoloLive Cloud, a live volumetric video cloud platform. This marks a significant leap forward in the world of live 3D holograms and immersive technology.

IMVERSE is coming off a particularly productive week. As part of the Venture Leaders Mobile 2024 delegation, the EPFL spin-off presented its revolutionary 3D holographic collaboration platform, HoloLive Cloud, using a simple cell phone. A success, as Brent Milliken, the new CEO of IMVERSE, explains to Startupticker: "MWC was our most successful event to date, with over 400 demonstrations and 35 solid leads. We also saw interest from major companies such as IKEA and Nokia, to name but a few. As part of the Swiss Venturelab delegation, we also received a visit from the Swiss ambassador.”

HoloLive Cloud allows users to create immersive 3D experiences using the depth camera on your phone or any camera and depth sensor. You can capture, create and consume real-life holograms instantly, from anywhere in the world. The platform combines IMVERSE’s proprietary voxel data rendering engine with machine learning to allow for the best live and authentic 3D streaming quality. It enhances all kinds of AR, VR and mobile experiences by making them more immersive and interactive than a regular 2D experience, replicating the real world at a fraction of the cost of today's physical space.

Available on the Apple store, HoloLive Cloud App can be used for holographic content production by individuals and enterprises across various industries like retail, entertainment, education, and telemedicine. The App connects you to the platform through the cloud, which enables the live streaming of volumetric video across any AR/VR device and allows the seamless transition between the real world and spatial computing. IMVERSE relies on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) powered by NVIDIA A10 GPU clusters to support the development and hosting of its platform.

IMVERSE is marketing its HoloLive Cloud as a "PaaS" (platform as a service) - an infrastructure enabling any business to have a 3D distribution platform to create and consume holographic experiences for their customers.

Commenting on the newly launched platform Brent Milliken, the CEO of IMVERSE says: “if you have a business or a need where personal interaction matters, HoloLive Cloud enables remote-based interactive experiences with the intimacy and authenticity of Holograms in near reality. Combined with the simplicity of mobile capture, any Enterprise user now has the ability to create and consume 3D content. Think of a personal shopping experience or a doctor helping a remote patient or collaborating with a Holographic object from a web browser.”

Bringing the metaverse closer

"To make the Metaverse a reality, we need to overcome many technical hurdles. One of the biggest challenges is to produce 3D content that is affordable and accessible to consumers and businesses. Our breakthrough is so significant that it opens the door to a wide range of new applications, including, for the first time, broadcasting multiple holograms in real time," explains Brent Milliken, CEO of IMVERSE.

Following the official launch in Barcelona, IMVERSE is focusing today all its efforts on bringing HoloLive Cloud to market. Based on the user’s feedback received at the Spanish event, the company will be releasing its first app update this Friday. IMVERSE plans to close a CHF 1.3 million financing round this spring. The Vaud based startup employs 15 people between Switzerland and France.
