Germany's largest green electricity discounter eprimo GmbH collaborated with cleantech startup Exnaton on the the development of SPOT, a white label product for dynamic rates to make participating in the energy transition more attractive for end customers. Following the launch this year, the startup now counts eprimo to its customers.

Dynamic electricity tariffs have considerable potential for cost and efficiency optimization and bring significant advantages for consumers, energy suppliers and network operators compared to the conventional fixed price model.  Variable electricity tariffs ensure more transparency in the complex pricing mechanisms of the energy market. For purchasing electricity outside peak times, they offer consumers financial incentives in the form of lower market prices. since they can decide whether to consume electricity at the time of cheaper tariffs, households can adjust their consumption behaviour to significantly reduce electricity costs and gain more control over their individual electricity bill. As of 2025 all German utilities are obliged to offer a dynamic rate to their customers (according to §41a of the Energy Industry Act (EnWG)).

Exnaton, a specialist in processing, billing and visualization of complex energy data together with its partner, eprimo joined forces to develop and launch SPOT, a solution that would accelerate the transition towards dynamic electricity tariffs under the new legal framework. By connecting its white label SaaS platform "PowerQuartier" to the European Electricity Exchange, EPEX spot market prices for the billing of electricity can now be imported.

Launched early this year, the platform processes energy and price data every 15 minutes and visualizes energy costs. Available across Germany and open to all utilities and energy service providers, the solution offers customers a high level of transparency and the opportunity to make informed decisions about their own energy consumption.

In line with this partnership, Exnaton has won eprimo as a customer, giving it a strong foothold in Germany where it has six ongoing partnerships. As the country’s largest supplier of clean energy, eprimo supplies more than 1.7 million customers.
