Eaternity wins Hub Zurich WWF Fellowship

Hub Zurich and WWF Switzerland grant a new Fellowship on Biodiversity and Resource Efficiency for Social Entrepreneurs. The winner is Eaternity, a start-up that aims to establish climate friendly meals.

Eight finalists were nominated for the new WWF Hub Fellowship. The winner is Eaternity founded by Judith Ellens. Eaternity aims to establish climate friendly meals at a larger scale by providing and promoting low-carbon recipes. Eaternity receives CHF 30 000 seed-funding, one year unlimited Hub membership and access to the communities of WWF Switzerland and Hub Zurich.

«As food is currently causing over 20 percent of all CO2 emissions, we are looking forward to supporting our new Fellows to build a solid business model and thus create sustainable impact», Michel Bachmann, co-founder of Hub Zurich, says.
Beside the winner two projects were selected as runner-up teams. The get CHF 7 500 seed capital and three months Hub Unlimited membership:
 
Organic Standard sports the idea of financially supporting farmers in their efforts to switch to organic production by selling emission reductions for CO2 sequestration in soil.
 
Solar.greenings.org fosters the installation of photovoltaic cells on rooftops by a solar-as-a-service model in which they integrate crowd funding as a new means of financing.
 
On top, a special prize was given to Optimistic Cold Brewed Coffee for the great presentation of their healthy, energy-saving and very tasty cold coffee drink.
