Swiss game developer Gbanga, the pioneer of location-based games, is entering new territory once more by introducing special items that can be bought in-game, boosting player abilities for taking-over rival Mafia locations anywhere in the world. Items already available for purchase include the Police Megaphone and World Domination Satellite, which is the must-have gameplay item for supreme Mafioso.

The rate of purchase for these special items has had incredible success. The megaphone in particular is proving to be exceptionally popular due to its affordable price of ¢99. The satellite however is priced at a whopping $99, making it the most expensive in-game item available in the AppStore. The hefty price tag hasn't been a deterrent to players, as a unit was sold within 6 hours of going on sale. This clearly demonstrates significant player commitment to Gbanga's unique and addictive game and the potential of purchasable items in general.

Items to purchase include:
• Police Megaphone (¢99 for 3 units). Have your rivals flee by fooling them into thinking it’s a police raid. The megaphone ensures 100% success in taking-over your current Cell location.
• Respec‘ Da Bass ($9.99 for 5 units). Intimidate your rivals with this super high frequency sound system. One unit challenges an additional 10 Cells adjacent to your current location.
• World Domination Satellite (currently at a reduced price of $99!). Go large with this satellite, which is every Mafiosos dream power-up! Each satellite gives you the ability to take-over 450 random Cells around the world, without you having to walk to each location.

What is Gbanga?
Gbanga is a location-based social gaming platform that’s currently available for iPhone/iPad and older Java/J2ME mobile phones. Real-world factors can influence games, such as place, time, local weather and nearby players. Additionally, Gbanga works across different types of media as participants can discover gameplay elements concealed in newspaper articles, billboards and real-world objects. With Gbanga you can host any number of story-driven games and competitions, create location-based puzzles and offer theme-based mini-games. The in-house development team offers conceptual design, implementation, execution, usage analysis and reporting of interactive stories to clients.
