The b-rayZ Data Adaptive Neural Artificial Intelligence technology is poised to redefine AI capabilities in breast imaging, offering a groundbreaking Custom AI framework for efficient, accurate, and sustainable mammography screening and diagnostics. The technology has obtained the CE Mark, paving the way for the startup to offer a complete end-to-end AI platform solution for breast imaging.

Dedicated to breast cancer diagnostics, b-rayZ supports women throughout their diagnostic journey with a tailored ecosystem of solutions driven by clinical needs. The company leverages cutting-edge AI technology and years of clinical experience in breast imaging, to develop a comprehensive yet easy-to-use solution that provides a wide-ranging set of industry-leading AI modules.

With DINIA (Data Adaptive Neural Artificial Intelligence), the startup has developed a novel technology that seamlessly integrates into the comprehensive breast diagnostic suites (b-box plus) to facilitate early breast cancer detection, density assessment and quality-controlled breast positioning. DANAI marks a significant milestone in radiology, introducing a pioneering Custom AI framework designed to dynamically adapt to the unique needs of breast imaging institutions and their professional staff in diverse clinical environments. This adaptable framework allows calibration to the distinct requirements of each imaging unit, thereby enhancing diagnostic accuracy and streamlining operational efficiencies.

Prof. Dr Andreas Boss, co-founder and KOL in breast diagnostics expressed his enthusiasm about the technology, stating that: “DANAI is a game-changer in the realm of AI solutions for radiology. Its adaptive capabilities represent a paradigm shift by dynamically adjusting and learning from the environment. This responsiveness and flexibility go beyond traditional AI models, allowing the specialists to bridge the gap between standardisation and intelligent customisation. Just as a human would account for the variability in the local setting and patient population, DANAI™ brings that level of nuanced understanding to the forefront, ushering in a new era of tailored, overperforming and intelligent diagnostic solutions”.

DINIA is now CE-marked, setting the foundation for further expansion. Today, b-rayZ relies on its widespread installation base spanning six European countries where it collaborates with early adopters. b-rayZ is currently integrated into prominent breast diagnostic facilities, spanning private radiological centers such as the market-leading Evidia, public screening programs in Switzerland, and renowned university hospitals like University Hospital Basel, Zurich, Bern, and Tübingen in Germany. The customers will have the flexibility to seamlessly enhance their software capabilities by effortlessly adopting the latest functionalities.

Prof. Dr Cristina Rossi, CEO of b-rayZ, said: “The CE mark for DANAI is a tribute to our commitment to innovation and excellence in breast imaging. With this achievement, b-rayZ elevates itself in the medical industry as the first company to cover the entire mammography workflow, closing the last gap in the adoption of AI in each setting with Custom AI capabilities.”

The DANAI technology is set to launch in the forthcoming weeks, coinciding with a grand showcase at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) 2024 in Vienna. The launch marks a pivotal moment in advancing the field of medical imaging, setting new standards for excellence and innovation.
