Huge success for Geneva based Cleantech Startup: Without any attendance and panel cleaning, TVP’s solar-driven cooling system has shown 98% reliability, even with high-energy consuming applications under harsh environments.

TVP Solar specialises in high-vacuum mirrorless solar thermal collectors based on patented technology. Over a period of one year, the startup ran automatic tests on its thermal panels at the new headquarters of the logistics company, Agility, in Sulaibiya, Kuwait. The system ran automatically and unattended with 98% reliability; this was achieved without a single day of panel cleaning.

The solar field delivered up to 180°C to directly drive an absorption chiller and supply air conditioning at Agility’s headquarters. It produces a massive amount of thermal energy - 750 kWh/m²/year - with a peak efficiency of 57%, validating certification values. This proves TVP's best-in-class performance as recently certified by Din Certco Solar Keymark.

Operating from 10am to 3pm, with ambient temperatures up to 62°C, the solar thermal supplied 70% of the daily cooling load, matching the peak load. “TVP has proven itself a game-changer," exclaimed Piero Abbate, CEO of TVP. "Our super-performing panels predictably deliver massive thermal energy for the most energy-consuming applications, even in harsh environments like the Gulf."

"We are proud to be the first adopter of this revolutionary solution. The solution is perfectly in-line with our parent company's vision of innovation and social responsibility", said Stephen Lubrano, CEO of Alternative Energy Solutions (AES), a subsidiary of Agility.
