AgroFly ramps up production

AgroFly aims to revolutionize plant protection treatments to eliminate public health threats and respond to the crop protection requirements around the world by bringing the right product, at the right time, at the right place. The startup developed and patented a high-precision agricultural sprayer (SpUAV) that is driven by UAV platform. Bringing the right amount of product at the right place on the crops does not only protect plants efficiently, but also in an eco-friendly manner.

Scientific assessments of the SpUAV on vineyards, colza, gardening (asparagus, celery) and on greenhouse shading have already been completed together with Agroscope, the Swiss institute for agricultural research, University of Geisenheim and Syngenta Global’ Crop protection and Application Technology department. 

Given that the UAV platform is not only developed but alos  manufactured by AgroFly in Sierre, it has been awarded the Swiss-Made Certification. National authorities including civil aviation, agricultural, public health and environmental authorities, have also certified the product.

Currently, AgroFly is in the first phase of the production series of its SpUAV, which can already be ordered. "We have seen a high customer demand from all over the world", says Marcel Rieder, CMO at AgroFly.

The final product will be presented at the SIVAL exhibition 2018 in Angers, France from 23^rd to 26^th January 2018. The Sprayer-drone received a bronze medal in the SIVAL Innovation 2018 category. During the conference too, the French company TraitaService will present the sprayer drone in its "greenhouse bleaching" configuration during event. TraitaService signed a partnership with AgroFly to develop a comprehensive range of services to increase staff safety while optimal greenhouse whitewashing.
