Mobile World Congress: More space for Swiss innovation

For the first time, Switzerland will have a two-storey SWISS Pavilion situated in one of the best locations in Hall 8.1 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. A record of 19 companies will showcase their technologies on the two pavilions.

From 24-27 February 2020, more than 110,000 visitors from 212 countries will convene in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), the world’s largest and most significant event for the mobile communications sector. Parallel to the congress, companies from various countries will exhibit their products and services on the designated 100'000m2.

Unlike the previous years, Switzerland will present itself in a new format: for the first time, the country will have a two-storey SWISS Pavilion, organised by the Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE), in an attractive location at the MWC in Hall 8.1. The pavilion has also been redesigned such that visitors can stay longer on the different stands.

An exhibitor record of 19 Swiss companies will set up their booths in the two SWISS pavilions, representing the following fields: App/Mobile Services, IoT, Network-technology, Innovation, Big Data/Analytics, Hardware, Artificial intelligence, Cloud Services, Marketing, Corporate & Business-IT and Smart Cities.

Innosuisse is sponsoring eight startups and these are Salesbee (Marketplace as a Service Platform), Pxl Vision (a software platform for digital customer verification and customer on-boarding), Ketl (AI-based information based platform), Aictx (Neuromorphic computing for advanced signal processing in wearable medical devices). Rikscha Taxi (the first ecological bicycle taxi service in Switzerland), Brain-IT (4.0 software platform that combines IoT, Big data and Machine Learning), Typewise (smart keyboard for smartphones), and Shiftcrypto (hardware and software for secure storage of cryptocurrency).

Other companies at the pavilion will exhibit independently as co-exhibitors or friends of the Swiss Pavilion. They include Eyeware, Jelurida, GMS Worldwide, buyogo, WiseKey, Pixchange, Akenza, QR Crypto, Safehost, Hubner + Suhner and nexus.

Venturelab startups
The startups selected by Venturelab as part of the venture leader’s Mobile program will also participate in the Swiss Pavillion either with a booth (Creal and Exeon) or use it as a platform for hosting meetings. The ten startups are Astrocast, CREAL, Decentriq, EcoRobotix, Exeon Analytics, IniVation, Kido Dynamics, Qiio, ScanTrust and Synthara.

Switzerland represented in the 4YFN Competition
Thanks to a partnership with Venturelab (Venture Leaders Mobile), Swiss startups will, for the first time participate in the 4FYN event, one of the largest events at the MWC which brings together startups, investors and companies to connect and launch new business ventures. PXL Vision and Exeon are among the 12 finalists of the  4YFN Barcelona Awards that will compete for a cash prize of €25,000.
