Neurobat wins Swiss Environmental Prize

With prize money of 50 000 Swiss Francs, the Swiss Environment Prize is one of the country's most generously-endowed accolades. It is conferred once every two years by the «pro Aqua – pro Vita» foundation and, this year, was announced at the Swissbau 2012 exhibition in Basel. Projects that demonstrate technology, process or product innovation in the environmental area are eligible for the prize.

 

Today, much of our energy is used to heat and cool buildings. To help reduce this consumption, and its associated carbon emissions,Neurobat scientists and engineers have developed unique adaptive and predictive control technology for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

 

 

Neurobat’s technology is vastly more energy-efficient than even the best currently-available HVAC controllers, which follow pre-programmed heating instructions and which disregard the extra heat introduced, for instance, by sunshine or by people (themselves heat sources) entering the building and activating heat-generating computer equipment. Neurobat’s patented technology, however, because it continually learns and adapts to the dynamic thermal environment of a modern building,

can intelligently predict how much heat to deliver, and when, thus minimizing energy use and maximizing user comfort. The Neurobat devices are simple to install, commission and maintain.

 

The conferment of the  Swiss Environment Prize serves as independent recognition of Neurobat’s technical excellence and commitment to reducing energy use and greenhouse gas emissions through the application of advanced technology.

 

 

The Neurobat technology platform is embodied in three product lines, available Q2 2012, that address the entire residential and commercial market spectrum from new build to retrofit. One of the products is an add-on device for heating curve controllers and is for use by manufacturers in new heating equipment. Another is a retrofit version, supplied via heating and electrical installationcompanies to end users. A third product is an online solution, mainly for commercial buildings. It is of interest to facility managers, commercial landlords and Energy Savings Contracting operators.
