The NANOCLEANER NWC-1200 was nominated by the jury for this year's Label Industry Global Awards in the category Sustainability. The final winner will be announced on the evening of 24 September in Brussels.

The Label Industry Global Awards is a worldwide competition to honour key industry individuals and those companies who have made a significant contribution to innovation, growth and excellence in the label industry. The award ceremony alternates between Labelexpo Americas in Chicago and Labelexpo Europe in Brussels.

The Award for Sustainability is for a specific sustainable product or process by a supplier or converter company in the label industry introduced during 2012. Judges will be looking for a company that has introduced a specific product or process and maintained the most sustainable and environmentally acceptable working practices into their purchasing and manufacturing operations and can demonstrate key materials, production and performance or consumer benefits.

One of the three products nominated for the Sustainability Award this year is the partswasher NANOCLEANER NWC 1200 by Nanovis, a young Swiss company. The NANOCLEANER type NWC cleans the removable parts of open and closed flexographic printing works, like ink tanks, fountain rollers, squeegee rollers, chambered doctor blades, etc. with minimum spraying pressure efficiently and carefully. Mixing spoons, putties and other small articles made of most common materials can also be cleaned.

The NANOCLEANER only uses Nanovis’ non-volatile cleaning agent, which is constantly filtered in the integrated recycling system and thus never needs to be replaced. Only small amounts of dried paint remain, which can be easily discarded to the residual waste.

Nanovis was founded in 2004 and is based in Illnau (ZH). The company already received several awards such as the Gold Award of the European Environmental Press, the CTI Start-up Label and the Award of the WA de Vigier Foundation.
