The medtech start-up Abionic was selected with 35 other companies for Venture 4i, an event taking place in Grenoble, where investors meet promising young entrepreneurs from the Alpine region. At the event investors have chosen the start-up from Lausanne as the most innovative company.

The Forum 4i was founded in 1998. This year the investment section of the event expanded its scope to become Venture4i, an international conference where innovative companies from the Alpine Arc can meet investors. A selection committee made up of recognised investors in their particular fields selected 36 companies for the event. Nine of them were Swiss start-ups: Abionic, Aleva Therapeutics, Combagroup, Digitalmedlab, Dorphan, Inflamalps, Inzair, Newscron and RightClearing plus the French-Swiss company Transcure Biosciences.

Out of the 36 companies the investors selected the most innovative start-up at the event. They awarded the trophy « 4i-Jean-Michel Lamure » to Abionic. The award was handed over by Mrs. Edith Cresson, former French Prime Minister.

Abionic is a start-up based in Lausanne, strongly positioned at the boundaries of medical technology, biotechnology and nanotechnology. As a spin-off from EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne, Switzerland), Abionic uses the most advanced technology to offer the medical profession a novel point-of-care diagnostic tool which is designed to provide patients with personal allergy profiles.
