Zkipster, a tech startup that offers cloud solutions to streamline check-in process at private events, today announced it closed a new financing round with Zurich Cantonal Bank (ZKB) to fund its expansion.

Zkipster’s new financing round comes on the heels of launching zFace, a picture sourcing engine that helps event planners put a face to a name, the industry's first digital picture guest list. Last week, The New York Times called zFace "the new weapon to the defensive arsenal" of event planners.

"The zkipster team has managed to build an impressive track record in a very short time,” said David Hug, a member of ZKB's startup-finance team. "They turned a paper based solution into a digital business giving event planners a tool to professionalize their offering. Our commitment will help zkipster continue its significant growth and maintain its leading position."

"ZKB is the perfect fit for us – bringing their start-up resources together with our vision to deliver strong guest list solutions to our clients," said zkipster co-founder David Becker. “But this is only the first step. We are working on a series of exciting guest list solutions and are excited to partner with one of the world’s safest and best rated banks to unveil them."

Zkipster - Guest List Solutions was founded in 2009 by David Becker and Daniel Dessauges to provide simple, user-friendly guest list solutions and replace needless paper clipboards at clubs and bars. Since launching a New York City office in summer 2012, the company has focused on expanding its business footprint into the professional event planning industry.

To date, zkipster has secured contracts with more than 1,000 brands and organizations in art, fashion, media, non-profit and government agencies in more than 40 countries. Furthermore, zkipster's product team is working on building add-on features based on feedback of clients like HBO, The Whitney Museum, John Varvatos and Sotheby's.

The Swiss-American start-up currently has offices in Zurich, New York and London, as well as local sales partners in Los Angeles, Berlin and Sao Paulo.
