The applications for the second edition of the venture leaders China program are opened until June 8th, 2015. The 10 finalists chosen among Switzerland’s most promising startups will win a 10 day business development journey in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen, from October 20th to 30th, 2015.

For Swiss startups, China is a key market to explore. With growing opportunities and exciting market prospects, and the necessity to strengthen the visibility of the Swiss high-tech scene in China, venturelab launched the first edition of venture leaders China in 2014. “The venture leaders program - be in the US since 15 years or in China since last year - has proven to be a success model when it comes to identify and promote some of the most promising startups in Switzerland”, explains Jordi Montserrat, venturelab Managing Director for western Switzerland. For example, L.E.S.S. who traveled to China last year was elected Switzerland’s second best startup in the 2014 Top 100 Swiss Startups ranking and recently closed a CHF 3 million Series A financing round to accelerate its development.

10 days to explore the Chinese market potential
venture leaders China is an exclusive opportunity for high-tech startups to be part of a top entrepreneurial team, accelerate their business growth and showcase Switzerland as a leading country for innovation. For Martin Zahnert, 2014 finalist and VP Engineering of Dacuda AG, “the program accelerates your company to go global and broadens your view. It is a great opportunity to learn from people doing business there successfully and also to exchange approaches with other Swiss startups.” For John Miles, founder and CEO of Space 3D Solutions SA who also traveled to China last year, “entrepreneurs are the lively blood of Switzerland and contribute to the strength of our country. That is where venturelab is so precious. Without the support of this program, the penetration of a market like China would probably not even be possible for a startup.”

Organized in partnership with swissnex China, Consulate of Switzerland, the program consists of numerous opportunities for face-to-face discussions with leaders of the high-tech community, and its design offers participants a maximum impact on their personal, business and network development. Pascal Marmier, Swissnex China CEO explains: “No entrepreneur can ignore Asia anymore, especially at a time when China and other countries' economic growth shift to an innovation-driven mode. While remaining a challenging and complex environment, China offers market opportunities, world class expertise in production and supply chain, as well as a competitive talent pool. venture leaders China guarantee that the finalists learn how to make the best of this fast moving region.”
