Two Swiss start-ups among the winners of the European Food Venture Forum

Qualysense and Urban Farmers received an award at the fourth European Food Venture Forum. They are now qualified to continue along the European Venture contest.

The fourth edition of the European Food Venture Forum took place in Aarhus, Denmark, recently. 29 emerging entrepreneurs coming from all around Europe- selected from a pool of more than 50 companies -presented their innovations, developments and needs in front of an investor jury of about 40 business angels, venture capitalists, corporate investors and other industry experts.

Among the nine winners are two Swiss start-ups:

QualySense – Pioneers high-end solutions for grains, seeds and beans sorting aiming to improve quality and reduce waste of food, that will change the quality paradigms of the agricultural commodities worldwide.

UrbanFarmers - Commercial fresh food production system in and near cities with established consumer brand.

The Investor Jury who selected the award winners of the European Food Venture Forum included - among others - investors from, Anterra Capital, BASF Venture Capital GmbH, DuPont Nutrition &Health, Seventure Partners, Sisters Capital.

The award winners qualified to continue along the European Venture contest; a pan-European contest of venture events that gathers the best of each edition to join the European Venture Summit, Europe’s largest venture capital match-making event, taking place on 8 and 9 of December 2014 in Düsseldorf, Germany.
