Swiss startups have continued to impress juries across the world with their solutions, scoring the top spot in the competitions. The startups took home diverse prizes, including a 6-month partnership to create a proof of concept.

The Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC) Open Innovation Competition is a competition for all members of the Bio-based industries consortium within Europe, comprising more than 400 members, on the subject of “Barrier coatings”. This challenge aims to stimulate collaborations between large companies that propose challenges and co-finance the innovation projects, and the community of solution providers. Swiss startup Bloom Biorenewables won the challenge from Procter and Gamble securing a cash prize of €10’000 for a joint project with P&G for 6 months. “The end goal of this proof-of-concept project is to develop a prototype and working principle of our solution tailored to P&G's needs which then leads to the commercialization of our product with P&G”, elaborated the startup.
