The organiser of Swiss Mobile Basecamp 2012 has just announced that Walter Steinlin, president of CTI, will speak at the one-day event. He joins a group of exceptional speakers from companies such as Skype, Google, Nokia, HTC and Rovio, developer of Angry Birds.

Walter Steinlin, president of CTI, will speak at the first Swiss mobile basecamp taking place in Bern in January, thus stressing the importance of the event. Steinlin joins an exceptional group of industry experts, who will not only share their experience but also answer questions from start-up entrepreneurs during the mobile clinic.

The speakers cover all steps of the value chain: from representatives of very successful start-up companies developing games and embedded software to handset manufacturers, operators and internet companies.

Julien Fourgeaud works for one of these start-ups: he is Rovio's Bad Piggy Bank Manager & Magician, and is driving the company’s monetisation strategy. Rovio is the name behind Angry Birds, a catapult-puzzle game for the iPhone and one of the best selling games in the Apple Appstore.

The second start-up representative is Morten Grauballe, who leads the product development and strategy efforts at Red Bend. He will share his insights into how Red Bend managed to get its embedded software deployed into a billion mobile phones and connected devices in just five years.

The second group of speakers consists of high-level representatives of potential business partners of start-ups. Catalin Gheorghiu, a member of the core team responsible for developing Nokia’s next generation of products, will explain when and how start-ups should engage with a handset manufacturer. Others speakers in this group include Daniel Ledermann, head of incubation and portfolio at Swisscom, and Daniel Nordberg, business development director at HTC.

Representatives of internet companies will be also present; for example, Andy Nuttall, head of planning and strategy at Skype, will chart Skype’s journey through the ecosystem and demonstrate how start-ups can take the lessons and apply them to their business.

Swiss Mobile Basecamp 2012 will take place in Bern on 18 January. Some subsidised tickets are available for start-ups in the CTI coaching process.
