Malcisbo, Weibel CDS and Winterthur Instruments were awarded with the CTI Start-up Label on Tuesday. The Start-up Label is a seal of quality, a certificate of achievement, and a sign of credibility and readiness for sustainable growth.

CTI Start-up enables creative entrepreneurs to realize their innovative business ideas quickly and professionally. Through a three-phase, firmly guided process lasting 6 to 24 months, a dedicated coach will help the venture’s project evolve. At the end of Phase III of the coaching process, companies can apply for the CTI Start-up Label. Only the best companies which had entered the process will be awarded. On Tuesday three new companies were awarded with the label.

Malcisbo has the technology to develop a wide variety of vaccines against parasites and bacteria which infest both humans and animals. The first product is to be used against the poultry bacteria Campylobacter. The tiniest amount of these bacteria in the human food chain causes diarrhoea. Malcisbo has developed an affordable remedy which can be easily administrated to poultry via their drinking water.

Weibel CDS AG develops and produces innovative, user friendly, application oriented primary packaging and devices. The company initially focuses on devices which upgrade vials - small glass or plastic vessel or bottle, often used to store medication - practically to prefilled syringes. Further, an entirely new primary packaging concept based on today’s plastic technologies, offers a wide range of applications, for example with the functionality of prefilled syringes.

Winterthur Instruments supplies measurement systems for noncontact and nondestructive testing of coatings. These systems can be used to control industrial processes as well as for quality testing and reference measurements. The systems save production time and coating material and they allow implementing 100% quality control on in- and out-bound goods.
