Aiming to bridge the gap between academia and industry, the Academia-Industry Training (AIT) India program helps researchers pursue an entrepreneurial journey by transforming their high-level applied research into market applications. This year’s edition with ten startups from each country takes place digitally in India and Switzerland.

AIT India has been one of the most successful initiatives by Swissnex in India, Venturelab and ZHAW (the Leading house for South Asia and Iran), enabling over 130 researchers from India and Switzerland to take the plunge into entrepreneurship. In its 8th edition, AIT has transitioned into the ‘digital mode’ as the pandemic uncertainties linger. The program features startups that are more technologically advanced and Edtech, Sustainability and Carbon Neutrality as new focus areas, in addition to conventional fields like Medtech.

The upcoming program – from 15 -18th November 2021 in India and the 6 - 9th December 2021 in Switzerland – offers startups a platform to learn, network and understand cultural and business contexts, international markets, foster new partnerships and collaborations and understand the market potential for their product. The bootcamp will help accelerate the Innovation-to-market journey and firm up go-to-market strategies for rapid internationalisation.
