Tech Tour and Viva Tech nominate Switzerland’s growth startups

Switzerland is home to over 20 unicorns, with more in the making. The TechTour Growth50 and the VivaTech Top 100 have both revealed which Startups they envision to the next unicorns. Eight startups made it to the lists with Oviva selected on both lists.

For the seventh edition of Tech Tour together with a selection panel of the most active international venture capital and growth funds evaluated the top 50 European future unicorns. Five Swiss startups made it to the 2022 Tech Tour Growth50 list.

EcoRobotix – offers AI-based ultra-high precision farming solutions. Its robot, ARA plant protection spraying machine uses AI, its vision and computer systems to detect and selectively spray the weeds with a micro-dose of herbicide.

MedAlliance - develops innovative drug-eluting balloons for patients suffering from life-threatening coronary and peripheral arterial disease. The certified SELUTION SLR that became the first drug-eluting balloon DEB to be awarded "Breakthrough Device Designation" by the FDA is undergoing clinical studies.

Onward Medical– developing therapies to restore movement, independence and health in people with spinal cord injuries. Following its listing on the Euronext stock exchange in Brussels, the startup raised CHF93 million at a valuation of CHF420 million.

Oviva – since 2014, the startup offers digital solutions to empower people to change their diet-related habits, improve their long-term health, and enhance their well-being.

Skycell – offers temperature-controlled containers to ship valuable, life-saving pharmaceuticals around the world. In addition to Virgin Atlantic and All Nippon Airways, the startup also works with Japan Airlines as it strengthens its presence in Japan.

VivaTech Top 100 nominates four Swiss startups
Four other Swiss startups made it to the VivaTech Top 100 list, which showcases the most promising scale-up startups poised to reach a valuation of USD 1 billion or more, in the near future. So far, 40 percent of the nominated companies in 2019, 2020 and 2021 lists have already become Unicorns. This year, Viva Technology, Europe's largest tech event evaluated startups from 14 countries.

The Swiss future unicorns according to VivaTech are:

Beekeeper – offers a mobile platform that enables efficient communication and collaboration among frontline workers in industries such as hospitality, manufacturing, retail construction and more.  

Coople – built a platform for the efficient management of short notice and short-term work assignments. More than 20 000 Swiss companies and 500’000+ people have registered on the platform.

Frontify – with its brand management software, the B2B software-as-a-service serves over 2,500 companies worldwide including Facebook, Dyson, Centrica, Lufthansa, Vodafone, and Allianz.

Juries for the Tech Tour Growth50 and Viva Tech Top 100 agree on Oviva having the potential to be the next unicorn, thanks to its digital solution for managing diabetes.
