Swisscom App of the Year 2012: Deadline approaching

Smartphones are widely used in Switzerland. According to the Swiss market research institute Link, nearly one in two Swiss persons has a smartphone. As a result mobile applications are becoming more important and allow to personalize smartphones according to each user's needs.
 
With the Swisscom App of the Year Award, developers in Switzerland have the opportunity to present their apps to a wide audience. As a companion and guide in the digital world, Swisscom pays tribute to developers who contribute to the mobile communication. Last year the start-up Koubachi and an independent developer (Philippe Wechsler) were awarded.
 
Innovation, usability and customer benefit of an application are the key criteria for the evaluation.
 
The winning apps will be highlighted in Swisscom Online media and will be presented to 1.5 million readers of the Swisscom Shop Magazine. In addition, each team of a winning app receives the Swisscom App of the Year trophy and a tablet of their choice.
 
Apps that are proposed for the Swisscom App of the Year Award 2012 must have been released between 1 September 2011 and 31 August 2012 in the corresponding App Store/Market. Eligible are all developers resident in Switzerland and companies registered in Switzerland.
