With its trade fair program, Innosuisse gives start-ups with global ambitions the chance to attend international trade fairs as visitors or exhibitors. 23 start-ups were now selected and will exhibit their solutions during the Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona, at the hybrid trade show Viva Technology in Paris as well as at the BIO Digital.

Innosuisse supports start-ups that are entering new markets and have huge potential on the world stage as well as a mature internationalisation strategy with its trade fair program. Every year several lead fairs are determined. In addition, start-ups can apply to obtain support for other important fairs. Innosuisse is working with Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE) for this program. S-GE promotes Swiss export and has an in-depth knowledge of internationalisation and a global network.

Three lead fairs will take place in June. The start-ups that will exhibit at these fairs and obtained support from Innosuisse were now selected.

Bio Digital - June 14 -18, 2021

The BIO International Convention attracted 16,000+ biotechnology and pharma leaders in the past years, who came together for one week of intensive networking to discover new opportunities and promising partnerships. For the second time set up as a fully digital experience, BIO Digital gathers the global biotech industry and provides access to key players and partners via BIO One-on-One Partnering, educational, and the insights needed to continue critical research and  development.

Start-ups supported by Innosuisse:

Bionomous - developing a robotic device and AI solutions that allow researchers to automatically count, screen, sort, and dispense small biological entities, such as the eggs of zebrafish.

Cellestia - developing therapies to control pathogenic gene expression by selective inhibition of previously undruggable transcription factors in the cell nucleus. A first drug candidate has advanced to phase 2 in oncology.

CDR-Life - developing immunotherapies based on its antibody technology for targeting intracellular cancer proteins.

Deep Breath Intelligence - implements Molecular Breath Analysis by combining high resolution mass spectrometry with advanced Artificial Intelligence to turn it into a powerful platform for medical research and daily clinical practice.

Diaxxo – its peakPCR is a low-cost, small size device capable of performing real-time, quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) to amplify and detect DNA. The device enables Corona tests in less than 40 minutes.

MUVON Therapeutics – developing an autologous cell therapy for the regeneration of skeletal muscle tissue. The initial area of focus is a treatment for stress urinary incontinence in women.

Saverna Therapeutics – applying machine learning technology and processes in drug discovery to reduce time and cost in the development of small molecule drugs for non-coding RNA-targets in inflammation, autoimmune diseases, cancer and infection.

Synendos Therapeutics – developing therapies for neuropsychiatric disorders through modulation of a new drug target in the endocannabinoid system that enables restoration of natural functioning of the brain.

Further exhibitors at the Swiss Pavillon include start-ups (Clinerion, Elthera), SMEs (Cebios, Genedata) as well as support organisations (Switzeland Innovation, Swiss Biotech, Biopôle).

Viva Technology June 16 - 19, 2021

This year, held in hybrid format, Viva Technology (VivaTech) is a go-to annual event that brings together the Paris, French and European tech scene to ignite positive change in business and society. The event acts as a global catalyst for digital transformation and startup growth. Ten swiss startups have been confirmed to attend the event under the Swiss Pavilion. Innosuisse is supporting seven.

They are:

CompPair Technologies SA – the EPFL spin-off invented a new composite material able to fully repair itself in 1 minute. This enables clients to build better products that last longer and produce less waste.

Enerdrape – its patented technology uses geothermal wall panels to harvest geothermal and excess energy within buildings making them more energy-efficient.

Ormera – developed a web-based platform (a meter-to-cash solution) for independent management and electricity billing.

SmartHelio – developed a decision-making tool for solar asset management

Rovenso – with Rovéo, the startup offers an agile robot for security and safety monitoring of industrial sites.

Sustainaccount (Data Ahead Analytics) – offers automated solutions to create Carbon Footprints, manage climate risks and finance decarbonisation.

Typewise (former: WRIO Keyboard) – developed an intelligent keyboard for smartphones that leverages artificial intelligence for text prediction resulting in four times fewer typing errors.

The companies not supported by Innosuisse but are exhibiting in the Swiss pavilion include: Ecublens based startup Almatech, which delivers critical flight hardware for space missions and accessible engineering services for naval and ground applications, Jura based SpacePharma, providing simplified and valuable, end-to-end microgravity services and solutions for research and CSEM, a non-profit, industrial research and development organisation.

Mobile World Congress - Jun 28, 2021–Jul 01, 2021

Mobile World Congress is the world’s most influential exhibition for the connectivity industry. This year the event will bring together tech companies, regulators, founders and government delegations to its physical venue to showcase and explore some of the latest technologies in the industry.

Start-ups supported by Innosuisse:

Akenza (former: Hivemind) – connects every ‘Thing’ to the cloud through its cloud-based system, making it possible to communicate data via a network.

AVAtronics – offers the AVA Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) solution, the first True wide-band ANC in the market capable of selectively cancelling all annoying noises without compromising the quality of Music or speech on Headphones.

CREAL3D– developed light-field display technology which projects genuinely three-dimensional hologram-like imagery that is entirely natural for human vision.

Eyeware – develops patent-pending 3D eye-tracking software for depth-sensing cameras, allowing gaze tracking in 3D remotely, using consumer 3D cameras.

kaiosID - fights counterfeiting and illicit trade by covering the product’s packaging with invisible patterns that can be easily identified by an intuitive smartphone app

PXL Vision – offers fully automated, artificial intelligence-based identity technology for digital identity verification and secure customer onboarding.

Rovenso – with ROVéo, the startup offers an agile robot for security and safety monitoring of industrial sites.

VAY AG – trains computers to perfectly perceive and predict human motion using a regular camera to offer a human motion analysis solution for fitness and health.

Switzerland Global Enterprise has once again organised a Swiss Pavilion for startups and other Swiss organisations to exhibit their technologies. Apart from the start-ups supported by Innosuisse confirmed participants include: Zug based Arma instruments offering a secure communication device, GMS worldwide, an international messaging service provider for mobile operators and enterprises worldwide and CSEM, a non-profit, industrial research and development organisation.

In addition ten start-ups selected for the venture leaders mobile program will travel to Barcelona to visit the Mobile World Congress and meet with investors, industry leaders, and potential clients as well as exhibit their technologies at the 4YFN startup conference.
