Today we have news from startupticker.ch: We revised the website and gained new supporters. And there is exciting news from start-ups. Several of them have new well-known customers. Our editorial provides the most important information about the last two weeks in the Swiss start-up scene.

Dear reader

Our news portal is continuing to grow. Currently, reader numbers are more than 40% up on those of December, and it should continue in the same vein. As a result, we have improved the technical side and revised the website. It’s now possible, for example, to distinguish between training and events, which creates a better overview of the numerous offers. At the same time, it is also easier for readers to contribute, as they can now feed events and news directly into the system. After a check by the editors, the contents are released.

We’ve also gained a whole new set of supporters: startupticker is now supported by ETH Zurich, the Business & Economic Development department of the Canton of Zurich and startups.ch, the company that operates the eponymous foundation portal. Technopark Winterthur is involved as a new donator, and of course other partners, sponsors, supporters and donors are always welcome.

It is not only the startupticker team that’s moving forward, Swiss start-ups too have reported numerous successes over the past two weeks – and what is particularly impressive is that many young companies have gained well-known customers. Among the successful companies are smartprimes (with an order from UBS), Agilentia (with Swiss Re, Swiss Life and Adecco as new clients), arviem (a partnership with Deutsche Telekom) and Paradox Engineering (a partnership with Philips). It seems that Swiss start-ups, contrary to popular opinion, have mastered the art of selling.

First contacts with large companies can be established at events such as the CTI Medtech Event. ICT start-ups can now present themselves at the annual seminar of the industry association asut to hundreds of participants.

The venture kick competition is another good opportunity to get acquainted with investors and start-up supporters, and two new winners have just been announced: Mabimmune Diagnostics and CombaGroup can now look forward to funding of CHF130,000 each.

Have an inspiring weekend.
