DAC System, specialising in broadcasting monitoring systems, announces its partnership with Kathrein AG. This will enable the startup to shorten time to market, access a worldwide market, and increase credibility on the market. Together they developed an innovative technical monitoring system for antennas.

Early this month DAC System SA signed an agreement with Kathrein AG. Founded in 2013 in Lugano, DAC System develops unique and innovative end-to-end monitoring systems for broadcast towers and private mobile radio systems. Kathrein on the other hand, is a global specialist in communication technologies with over 60 years of experience in the area of broadcast antenna systems. The Kathrein Group has a staff of around 7,700. The company generated a consolidated turnover of €813 million.

Through this partnership, DAC system will access a wider market base in a shorter time, access Kathrein’s test and lab infrastructure and benefit from their technology expertise. “Kathrein is a pioneer in broadcast- and rf- systems, a reason as to why working with them will help us shorten the time to market, access a worldwide market, and increase credibility on the market. We also look forward to taking this opportunity to further implementing our future plans”, says Christian Brand, co-founder of DAC System.

DAC System has developed an innovative technical monitoring system for antennas and combiners, which allows for transparency. The system uses special sensors to record all important operating parameters in the rf-system in real time and compares them with target values from regular operation. All deviations are consistently logged to provide an early indication of a potential disturbance. Network operators can comfortably view the measurements via network access. If there are any critical changes in status or if threshold values are exceeded, an alarm is triggered and signalled via APP, SMS message or e-mail.

"This system considerably reduces the time and costs incurred in maintenace, because transmission towers normally require regular routine controls," explains Jörg Lippert, head of sales at Kathrein in the radio antenna division. The DAC Monitoring system can be employed with new antenna system installations and it can also be integrated into existing systems (retrofit).
