HR Matching has raised CHF 1 million in growth funding from new private investors to internationally expand its operations.

HR Matching develops solutions to bridge the gap between the education system and the labor market. The company is building a pan-European network of school- and university-integrated customized job portals that are centrally connected and allow its clients to efficiently and effectively spread their openings across multiple campuses in a targeted fashion.

Originally active in Switzerland only, the company has now launched operations in France, Germany, Portugal and Spain and will soon also expand to other European markets. The company has secured a variety of international strategic partnerships to rapidly scale the business.

After a first small seed round in 2011 through Centralway (shares were bought back by the founders in 2014), the founders have now closed a larger seed round in order to scale business operations.

The founders Peter Vogel - who is also Assistant Professor for Technology Entrepreneurship at the University of St. Gallen - and Johannes Hübner - former CTO of Numbrs - have also realized a partial exit. However, they remain active at the board level and business development.

Peter Vogel, who is also the author of the book "Generation Jobless?", is convinced that the solution their company provides offers a real added value to universities, employers and students, given that there is a clear mismatch that needs to be addressed. While many employers struggle to find the right talents for their open positions (4 million unfilled positions in Europe at the moment), 25% of Europe's youth is without employment. This is where they want to be active and contribute to the economy and society as a whole.
