1300 start-ups applied for the pitch competition at the Dublim Websummit. 150 were selected. Two start-ups from Switzerland made it to the finals and will now pitch at the tech conference with more than 7000 attendees.

The Websummit taking place End of October in Dublin is a global gathering of the world's leading thinkers and doers in technology. It's a gathering of the planet's leading startups and technology companies, and of businesses, large and small, who are being impacted by new technologies. This year over 7,000 attendees will make the trip from all corners of the globe to hear from over 300 speakers across dozens of stages, workshops and roundtables catered to every sector.

An important element of the conference is the Pitch competition. Start-ups can pitch in front of hundreds of the world's leading investors and leading journalist and bloggers from some of the world’s most influential tech news outlets. The companies will battle it out across 2 days for a chance to present on the Main Stage and be crowned "Winner of PITCH 2013". The shortlist for the competition was now published. Two young companies from Switzerland are on the list: Nezasa and Pitcher.

Nezasa, a Zurich based start-up, started a one stop travel planning and booking service in June. The aim is to allow travellers to book individual travel online without much hassle, with high quality local service providers that know their destinations like their own backyard.

PITCHER, the product of the company having the same name, is the only end-to-end solution for digital marketing and salesforce effectiveness needs. It centres around a tablet app and includes everything from centralized digital asset library and key account management to expo kiosk applications and HR. We published a detailed portrait of Pitcher recently.
