Remarkable achievements from SEF.Growth High Potential Label bearers

The newly awarded SEF.Growth High Potential Label startups have had remarkable business success and immensely impacted their respective industries. Some of their achievements are growing their customer bases and teams and expanding in new markets. The Label will allow them to accelerate their growth.

The Swiss Economic Forum startup program SEF.Growth brings together experts from different industries to assess startups’ business models and strategic directions to choose those with above-average growth potential and high growth chances. During the first half year 2023, 11 startups received the Label. The Label also acts as a seal of quality that boosts the startups’ presence on the market and increases acceptance amongst customers and investors. The awarded startups also get access to growth modules provided by SEF.Growth’s partners, and a pass to the SEF.Founder Community and the Swiss Economic Forum.

Sherpany makes meetings more productive with a holistic meeting management solution consisting of a modern meeting management education program and an app that helps executives, directors, and middle managers easily apply their meeting management know-how. Around 400 companies, including Migros, Raiffeisen, Kambly, Frutiger, and Helvetia, rely on Sherpany.

Alpine White – is a brand of Cobea Ltd., founded by Reto and Alexander Wälchli. They develop and commercialise Alpine White teeth-whitening products combined with oral prevention services. The company has served 150,000 customers and filled over 2,000 shelf spaces in Switzerland and Austria. Receiving the SEF.Growth Label will enable the company to secure debt and equity funding to facilitate its plans to enter Brazil and China.

UniqFEED SA – developed a software-based augmented reality solution to overlay physical advertising on live sports. The solution will replace TV broadcast and live stream advertising and allow for producing multiple output feeds for different countries or regions with targeted advertising. The solutions is today used in tennis and soccer games.

Impact Acoustic – in just four years, the startup has grown to 90 employees, who provide high-performance, recyclable, and circular acoustic solutions made from upcycled materials. Its products, including Felt, Cotton and Textile, are based on the ARCHISONIC material line, which offers exceptional acoustic performance and versatility.

Solar Manager – developed a system to help photovoltaic owners to optimise the distribution and consumption of electricity. The control of various appliances runs via the so-called gateway, a hardware device sold and installed by photovoltaic installers or electricians. And with the Solar Manager app, users can define individual rules for the software. Since its launch in 2018, the company has grown to 30 people and established a subsidiary in Germany in Mid-june 2023.

Boostbar – is dedicated to digitising the vending industry with an all-in-one vending system combining connected hardware with in-house software and curated Food and Beverages options. Their fully modular solutions allow clients to either benefit from a wide range of low-waste assortment. In just three years, the Boostbar has grown into a global player, serving more than 200 customers, including brands like Kellogg’s, Coca Cola and Marriott.

Kollabo – built a job search platform for craftsmen such as construction workers. Its market network allows employees, staffing agencies and construction companies to connect. Like LinkedIn, the platform allows craftsmen to create their own profiles on Kollabo to build long-term relationships with employers and provide proof of their expertise through a rating system. Building on its market success in Switzerland, the startup plans to enter new markets in the DACH region and beyond.

Qumea –aiming to solve today’s challenges in healthcare, Qumea provides an early-warning system to optimise the workflows of nursing staff in hospitals and care facilities. QUMEA’s solution for non-contact mobility monitoring consists of a 3D radar sensor mounted on the ceiling of the patient’s room. This sensor anonymously collects data by interpreting electromagnetic waves to detect even the smallest human movements in the room. The processed data is sent to the QUMEA cloud and analysed using artificial intelligence. Critical events are identified in real-time, and alerts are sent to caregivers to assist as needed. Customers using QUMEA reported 63% fewer patient falls on average.

Alao – makes finding the right telecom mobile or internet subscription easy, a task that even today is associated with considerable time, effort, overwhelming intransparent offers, and being courted by many providers. On alao.ch, hundreds of available telecom subscriptions from the eight largest providers in Switzerland, 98% of the telecom offers on the Swiss market, can be compared and purchased in five minutes. Since its launch in August 2019, alao has multiplied its sales volumes by 22 times (by December 2020) and by 86 times (by December 2022). The growth rate for the coming years will remain high as the white-label strategy is efficient and predictable.

Algrano – built a platform that allows coffee producers and roasters to connect directly online. Besides the offering programs, Algrano also exports and imports traded goods with service providers, creating the first fully transparent supply chain. With the digitalised platform and new trading model, producers generate a 30-40% higher selling price than alternative channels. And roasters have the maximum flexibility to process even small quantities independently online.

Digt AG – Brings together different parties in the E-commerce space; brands collaborate with partners to create, grow and strengthen the loyalty of their communities. Suppliers/Partners use the platform to run targeted sales campaigns, and customers to get access to the best deals. An example is the myShopplatform on the 20 Minutes news channel. Digt has built six platforms for six industry leaders within three years, gained 300,000 active users, sold 1 million items from 600 suppliers, and hired 50 employees.
