Growth

Within less than one year, qiibee’s loyalty tokens have reached more than 12‘000 users across Europe. The startup enables businesses to run their loyalty applications on the blockchain.

Through qiibee’s plug and play solution, companies can tokenize their loyalty points and store the reward and redemption transactions on the blockchain. qiibee’s infrastructure enables brands to run and operate their loyalty programs on the blockchain maintaining full control without the need for cost-intensive integration.

Among its clients are renowned brands like Lattesso, the second largest cold coffee producer in Switzerland, and kkiosk and press&books who collaborated with qiibee to run a Christmas campaign. The Zug-based start-up attracted also customers from abroad. Sausalitos, the largest cocktail producer in Germany operating more than 40 restaurants tested the qiibee solution with a pilot project in five locations. Thanks to the successful test the loyalty program has been rolled out to all 44 locations in May.

Christoph Heidt, CEO Sausalitos, comments: “To get our own token we would need to do a full ICO which is impossible from multiple angles – qiibee is the ideal solution for businesses.” Gabriele Giancola, qiibee’s CEO adds: “This is a huge vote of confidence and we are very proud that the pilot project was so successful. We look forward to further working with them, considering their expansion plans of growing to more than 100 restaurants in the near future."

New partnership in Italy
In Italy, qiibee is building up a network of partners. Following the partnership with
Confimprese, Italy’s retail association with more than 300 commercial brands that account for Italy’s 16% of total retail turnover, qiibee has won the non-profit federation FederEnergia, which is connected to Confcommercio Italy and reaches almost one million Italian merchants. FederEnergia will enable its merchants to reward their customers with a loyalty token (tokenized loyalty point), the FederEnergiaCoin (FEC) which is stored on the qiibee blockchain. The new loyalty program is scheduled to roll-out by the end of 2019 with the goal to onboard more than 10’000 merchants in the first three years.

The successful collaborations with clients and partners foster the further growth of qiibee. “First of all, we sourced even more data on how companies think about loyalty programs in general, what goals they want to achieve and what their internal processes are for technical integrations. All this information and data is great to further develop our technology and product to reach mass-adoption,” adds Giancola.
