London-based BCB Group, Europe's leading provider of business accounts and trading services for the digital asset economy, has chosen PXL Vision to digitally verify customer identities. PXL Vision's technology enables customers to be remotely identified and onboarded seamlessly in just 30 seconds.

PXL Vision provides BCB Group with an accredited, FINMA-compliant process for identifying end customers online. Michael Born, CEO of PXL Vision, highlights the importance of the deal: "The fact that BCB Group has chosen our service underlines our technology leadership in customer identity verification. This represents an important milestone in our successful ongoing international expansion."

Oliver von Landsberg-Sadie, Founder and CEO at BCB Group, says, "We want to expand our business in Switzerland, which is increasingly becoming a central marketplace for crypto-finance companies. As a crypto-finance service provider, we need a registration process that not only complies with Swiss financial regulator FINMA's strict rules but is also easy to use and intuitive for our customers. PXL Vision's service ensures a fast, compliant know-your-customer-process with a seamless user experience."

With a dedicated focus on institutional payment services, BCB Group provides business accounts, cryptocurrency and foreign exchange market liquidity for some of the world’s largest crypto-engaged financial institutions including Bitstamp, Coinbase, Galaxy, Gemini, Huobi and Kraken. BCB Group is the only multi-regulated institution of its kind to offer clients a complete end-to-end suite of payment processing, cryptocurrency trading and custody services accessible through a unified API-enabled platform, allowing clients to access a complete range of digital asset services in one place.

PXL Vision’s proprietary technology uses the smartphone camera to extract personal data from identity documents and determine its authenticity by reading and verifying the biometric chip, where available. It uses visual recognition of facial biometric features to check that the ID photo matches the presenting customer's smartphone video selfie. In addition, the technology determines the presence of a real live person (liveness detection), ensuring she or he is not masked and not just running a video or holding a printed photo of another person up to the camera. The whole process, powered by artificial intelligence, takes no more than 30 seconds.
