Climate-KIC is looking for new approaches and market ready innovations that set incentives for consumers to save private energy consumption. Teams from universities, public sector bodies and start-ups (not older than 18 months and more than 20 employees) can participate in the new Open Innovation Slam.

Climate-KICs Open Innovation Slam, an online idea competition, is a good opportunity to develop and share ideas on saving private energy consumption, form teams, post comments as well as to start conversations with others. Climate-KIC invites teams from universities, public sector bodies and start-ups (not older than 18 months and more than 20 employees) to participate. The online competition will run from 15th August to 30th September 2012 on www.openinnovationslam.org.

As of October 1st the community members have two weeks of time to vote for the idea they like most. The best ranked ideas will be handed over to a jury/ committee that decides between 15th October to 31st October on the shortlist of 8 teams. Those teams with close to market approaches will have the opportunity to travel to Berlin to pitch their solutions at the Climate-KIC Venture Weekend to a board of successful serial entrepreneurs, climate and industry experts.

The winner team will join Climate-KIC’s Incubation Program, worth up to 95,000 €, including free office space for up to 18 months and receive access to the broad Climate-KIC’s partner and business coaches networks as well as to Climate-KIC events, like the Master classes or the Venture Competition. The runner-up will receive free business coaching support for up to 6 months.

The project is supported by Climate-KIC partners TU Berlin, TU Berlin T-Labs, ETH Zürich and Vattenfall Europe Wärme AG.
