Smart lighting startup Novaccess SA has just raised CHF4.8 million, including CHF3 million in the form of a loan guaranteed by the Swiss Technology Fund.

Based at Y-Parc in Yverdon-les-Bains, Novaccess develops and commercializes Industrial Internet of Things technologies and products with mainly two applications: 1) public lighting for smart cities and 2) connected buildings (fire safety). Novaccess offers a breakthrough solution in the field of intelligent lighting called NovaLight.

“NovaLight has just received the support of the Technology Fund as it enables cities wishing to modernize their public lighting to obtain energy savings of 50% to 80%,” underlines Simone Riedel, General Manager of the Technology Fund. “Those substantial savings will help achieve Switzerland’s goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% relative to 1990 levels by 2030” adds Simone Riedel.

The current fundraising will contribute to the marketing of NovaLight and to the logistical support of the NovaSafety application, a fire safety solution that will be deployed in the United Arab Emirates from 2021.

“We are proud to be part of the Swiss Technology Fund portfolio” says Hervé Dedieu, Novaccess CEO. “We designed our solutions in partnership with very professional and demanding Swiss utility services. Establishing and marketing our solutions here is the result of hard, patient and ambitious research & development work. We are now ready to expand Novaccess abroad and we thank the Technology Fund for their wonderful support.”
