New CEO for FLISOM

Ulfert Rühle was a co-founder and chief manufacturing officer of Soltecture, a German manufacturer of glass-based CIGS solar panels. He also brings experience in managing production quality and a strong industrial and research background in CIGS technologies, including physical vapor deposition processes.

Ulfert Rühle succeeds interim-CEO Marc Kaelin who now becomes deputy CEO.

“Mr. Rühle's extensive experience in manufacturing of CIGS solar panels will provide Flisom with the industrialization competence needed to scale up its production line,” said Ayodhya Nath Tiwari, chairman of Flisom. “With the support of CIGS expert Marc Kaelin as deputy CEO, Flisom will continue improving its thin-film processes for integration into the production line,” Tiwari added.

“Joining Flisom's team is a great opportunity to advance and scale up roll-to-roll production technologies to manufacture the highly innovative products which flexible solar modules represent,” said Rühle.

Marc Kaelin is a co-founder of Flisom and had been interim-CEO since April 2012. He has led Flisom's CIGS developments since the company was founded.

Flisom AG, a Swiss company located in Duebendorf, Canton of Zurich, develops technologies for industrial roll-to-roll production of flexible solar modules based on copper-indium-gallium-(di)selenide (CIGS) photovoltaic absorber technology. Flisom was founded in 2005 as a spin-off company from the Laboratory of Solid State Physics of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich).
