New board members

Four startups have expanded their Board of Director with seasoned members from some of the largest companies in the finance, biotech and automotive industry. The startups will benefit from their expertise to bring accelerate their growth and development.

Effective this month, Dr. Meelis Reidla is the new Chairperson of the Board at Kugelmeiers Ltd, a spin-off from the University of Zurich in Switzerland which after 18 years of research in transplant surgery, cell therapy and developmental biology developed a technology and ecosystems allowing the company to make an impact on islet, liver and many other cell therapies that rely on 3D spheroids that need a medical quality platform. A target-driven leader, Meelis a trained medical doctor and an experienced senior healthcare industry executive, his unwavering passion is the advancement of human health by enabling development and broad access to significant innovative solutions in this area. Meelis brings along a wealth of 30 years of successful experience within the consumer healthcare industry, being results and learning-driven, whilst leading commercial regional businesses and global strategic functions (marketing, R&D) in highly prestigious healthcare companies. We are convinced that his strong track record of establishing, leading, and developing international cross-functional patient/customer-focused teams will guide Kugelmeiers in achieving high-quality business and people development results, driving internal engagement and external partnership success.

Inyova
Three experienced and renowned experts in retail banking and the fintech industry have joined the Board of Directors of Inyova, the impact investing platform provider. Aiga Senftleben is the co-founder and General Counsel at Billie, a Member of DFF Bundesministerium der Finanzen Deutschland, as well as former legal counsel at PayPal and eBay. She brings a unique perspective from her experience as a start-up founder, as well as her expertise in entrepreneurship, innovation, and strategic thinking. Michael Mandel is a former board member of Commerzbank AG and McKinsey & Company consultant and was also the board member in charge of private customers at Germany’s second-largest bank. Michael is not only a seasoned world-class banker but also a strong believer in climate protection and Inyova’s mission, as revealed by the startup. Roland Folz is the former CEO of Solaris Bank, has held board positions at Fürst Fugger Privatbank, Nürnberger Versicherung, Deutsche Telekom, Deutsche Bank, and DAB Bank. Roland is a seasoned venture builder, techie, and financial services specialist. He was the architect in building several leading technology banks such as Solaris and DAB.

Flux Mobility
In its fight against climate change, Flux Mobility AG develops electric-commercial vehicles with a universal interface that allows for converting entire vehicle fleets to electric rides, thus saving CO2. The interface works for different cooling superstructures. The company has welcomed Henning Schröder, the CTO and Group Executive Board Member of Aebi Schmidt Holding AG, to its Board of Directors, succeeding Oliver Streuli. Schröder has been active for over twenty years in various international roles in the automotive and special vehicle industry. Since 2019, he has been Head Group Technology at the Aebi Schmidt Group, a leading global provider of intelligent solutions for clean and safe traffic surfaces. Previously, he held various management positions at Hella, an internationally active automotive supplier.

Mimix Biotherapeutics
Biotech startup Mimix Biotherapeutics has welcomed Dr. André Kobelt to its Board of Directors. André has extensive experience in the Medical field: he established Synthes in Asia and he build up the market leader in Biomaterials, Heraeus Medical. Since 2016 André has been Managing Director of Heraeus Holding, a € 30 bn  revenue company in Germany. His strategic vision and extensive industry knowledge are poised to play a pivotal role in shaping MimiX's journey towards new milestones and breakthroughs in regenerative medicine. Founded in 2019, Mimix leverages Sound Induced Morphogenesis (SIM), a proprietary technology that uses sound in conjunction with cells, stem cells, spheroids, organoids & bioactives, to create tissue relevant architectures (bio-patterns). SIM replicates natures’ design strategy by controlling shape & function, the two fundamentals in developmental biology.
