Bright Sensors is ramping up production of its BlueEye Ex-D for a first large volume customer order in the European Community.  Already represented by specialist distributors on markets such as Germany, The Netherlands and Portugal, the Neuchâtel based gas quality sensor and analyzer manufacturing Swiss company is developing its global market presence and preparing the future.

Bright Sensors is working hard to deliver a first large customer order of its Ex-D, a high-end explosion proof certified gas analyzer designed for industrial applications in areas such as biomethane injection, hydrogen blending, combustion control and monitoring. A market developing fast as the energy transition gathers momentum.

Founded in 2014 as a spin-off of Laboratoire de Production Microtechnique (LPM) of EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne), Bright Sensors SA manufactures, and sells  gas quality sensors in mobile and stationary devices  that allow real-time monitoring of  gas quality. Their innovative, patented and low-cost technology allows natural and renewable gas producers, transporters and customers to better control their processes, reduce emissions while increasing efficiency. It reduces the cost and technical barriers for decarbonizing the natural gas industry.

Strengthened by the Heinzmann Group's strategic investment in the summer of 2020 and led by Bart Riemens since 2018, Bright Sensors is collaborating with the HE-ARC in Neuchâtel on a  Innosuisse project to further develop its novel gas sensor. Speaking to Startupticker.ch the CEO is very clear in his vision for the development of Bright Sensors: making their sensor even more efficient, developing the sales channels and moving from device supplier to Measurement as a Service (MaaS) to leverage the real-time data available in the cloud through the internet of things.

Speaking of support, the CEO also recognizes that the Neuchâtel microtechnique and innovation ecosystem has played a key role in enabling his company to help the industry tackle increasingly variable gas qualities. Based at Microcity, the company supported by the Swiss Technology Fund collaborates regularly with the CSEM and has won the Prix BCN Innovation in 2016.
